System set-up for solar measurement stations

So far there is no common standard for solar measurement as we have for wind measurement with the IEC 61400-12-1. We recommend system configurations bases on our long term experience in solar measurement considering latest research results and sensor classifications. Depending on the type and size of the planned solar power plant, different parameters have to be measured. For example, it is important to measure the Direct Normal Irradiation (DNI) for planned CSP power plants; for PV power plants DNI is not necessarily required.
