Dear Reader,

For wind resource assessment and wind condition monitoring campaigns with remote sensing devices powerful and continuous power supply is crucial. Ammonit offers different options for its SoDAR and LiDAR solutions: Complete measurement and power supply systems installed inside a trailer, a system with a trailerised power supply solution and the new Power Supply Box.

The Power Supply Box is a hybrid power supply solution for all climates combining solar modules and an efficient methanol fuel cell. Under normal conditions, solar power is sufficient to meet the power needs of Ammonit remote sensing devices. The methanol fuel cell starts as soon as the battery voltage is low and solar power is not available. If the site is very remote and difficult to access, transport the box with a helicopter. Tension belts are sufficient to fix the box on the helicopter.

The Power Supply Box is ideal for powering a LiDAR or SoDAR device. It is designed for low continuous consumption applications where mobility is not required. With our box you can supply measurement systems that consume 230 V or 24 V.

In order to start operating the power supply box you only have to unfold the solar modules, which are already installed on the box. Make sure that the solar modules are aligned to the sun for effective solar power production. You can easily access the control compartment with fuel cell, batteries and methanol tanks.

The power supply box offers remote monitoring and control of all power supplies. The fuel cell itself can be monitored and controlled via a web interface. The live monitoring includes battery voltage, status of the fuel cell, fuel level and charge current. You can configure alarms for several parameters such as low fuel, which are sent via SMS or email.

Our power supply box offers you reliable power supply for your remote sensing device in all climates.
