Important notice: Security-driven Changes for Meteo-40 and Meteo-32

Starting 30 June 2027, we will adjust services for older devices to align with current security and infrastructure requirements.

Please note: This only affects Meteo-40 version 1.x (delivered until end 2020) and Meteo-32 (discontinued in 2014). Meteo-40 Plus (version 2.x) and Meteo-42 remain unaffected.

What’s Changing?

Meteo-40 (Version 1.x):

  • No further online software upgrades (USB updates still possible, but not recommended)
  • Automatic upload to AmmonitOR will end; manual upload remains available
  • Tunnel service (www.tunnel.ammonit.com) will end due to legacy SSH version

Meteo-32:

  • Automatic email-based upload to AmmonitOR has ended; manual upload remains available

Tunnel Service Alternatives

  1. Migrate to Meteo-42 or Meteo-40 Plus
  2. Use a router with OpenVPN
  3. Use a SIM with a fixed, reachable IP address

What You Can Do

  • Identify affected sites and devices
  • Switch to manual uploads where needed
  • Plan alternatives for tunnel access (e.g., on-site maintenance or customer-managed VPN)

We will operate the Meteo-40 automatic upload and tunnel on a best-effort basis for as long as feasible but cannot guarantee availability after 1 July 2027.
